Spend 10 days in Rome with the ACL for as little as $2975.

Choose how you want to experience Rome: 

Both accommodations are located in the area of Trastevere, convenient to restaurants, shopping, and night life. The Hotel Casa di Santa Francesca Romana a Ponte Rotto will serve as program headquarters and a meeting spot for starting our days and evenings.     

Submit your registration by completing the pdf form and mailing it to the office or by completing an online registration form.
Deposits and payments can be made online through the ACL Portal.
 
How much does it cost? 

Rome through the Ages 10 day program (Jul 6–16):

  • Option 1 Hotel with breakfast  USD $3195*
  • Option 2 Apartment                   USD $2975*

Optional Campania Excursion 4 day Add-on (Jul 16-21):

  • Program Fee per person            USD $1450+
                                                                  +based on 20 participants

*Prices are set on double occupancy. A limited number of single accommodations are available for a surcharge. The tours are designed for a minimum of 15 and a maximum of 30 participants. A wait list will be maintained in case of last minute cancellations. First Come/First Served.

Scholarship funds are available from the American Classical League and other organizations.

Accommodations
 

In Rome, choose to stay in either:

  • Option 1: Hotel Casa di Santa Francesca Romana a Ponte Rotto (a medieval building a few blocks from Tiber Island within the Trastevere district), private bath, lift, breakfast, air conditioning, WIFI)    *limited single occupancy available for  USD $275
  • Option 2: The American University of Rome (AUR) apartments used for students along the Viale di Trastevere (fully furnished 3 bedroom/ 2 bath suites, equipped kitchen, refrigerator, air-conditioned living area, fans in each bedroom, towels, bedding & cleaning service, WIFI)     
    *single occupancy available for $345
 

During the Campania Excursion, stay in these 4 star hotels:

What do I Need to do to Reserve My Spot? Deposit Deadline:  March 1, 2020

Complete and submit the online registration or send in the pdf registration form with the appropriate deposit by March 1, 2020.

Final Payment Deadline     April 15, 2020

NOTE: A surcharge or refund may apply if the foreign exchange differs significantly by then.
Plane tickets should not be purchased before final confirmation is received (March 31, 2020).

 
What is Included?   What is NOT included?
  • Rome: 10 nights of accommodations (your choice of hotel or Roman apartment), 2 dinners, 2 coffees, 2 lunches, 3 receptions
  • Campania: 5 nights of accommodations, 5 breakfasts, 3 dinners, 2 lunches
  • For each segment: bus travel, entrance fees for museums & sites on itinerary; bus/tram pass; administrative costs
 
  • airfare/travel to Rome from city of origin
  • transportation to/from Rome airport

Cancellation Policy:

All cancellations must be made in writing and received at the ACL office by the deadlines below. Funds will be refunded if there is insufficient enrollment to continue either segment of the journey.

Refunds for cancellations will be paid as follows:

  • Before March 1, 2020: Deposit will be refunded, less a $50 service charge.
  • March 2 to April 30, 2020: All payments received will be refunded, less a 30% service charge.
  • May 1 to June 2, 2020: All payments received will be refunded, less a 75% service charge.
  • June 3–July 1, 2020: Only paid in highly unusual circumstances at ACL’s discretion.

Responsibility Waiver: The American Classical League or its agents shall not be held responsible or liable for any loss, injury, or damage to person, property, or otherwise in connection with an accommodation, transportation, or other service resulting directly or indirectly from any “acts of God,” dangers incident to the sea, fire, breakdown in machinery or equipment, or acts of government or other authorities, de jure or de facto wars, whether declared or not, hostilities, civil disturbances, strikes, riots, thefts, pilferage, epidemics, quarantine, medical or customs regulations, defaults, delays, or cancellations beyond the control of the American Classical League or its agents, or for any loss or damage resulting from insufficient or improperly issued passports or other documents. Neither the American Classical League nor its agents shall be held liable or responsible for any additional expenses or liability sustained or incurred by the tour member as a result of any of the foregoing causes.
